Buenos Aires is known for its monthly, weekly and daily street protests. Workers' rights, human rights violations during the dictatorship, international policy, gay marriage--name a social injustice and there are people in the street demonstrating against it. Throughout class this afternoon, we could hear the sounds of explosions echoing through the barrio, most likely coming from Plaza Congresso just a few blocks away. (No te preocupes!, our teacher kept saying, es normal!)
